The paper represents a review of the most important pieces of national legislation in the Republic of Macedonia, that regulate the issues of importance for the inclusion of Roma children in mainstream in education.
At legislative level, the analysis is focused on the main elements of the existing national legislation on the protection of the right of Roma children to formal education as a fundamental human right. Moreover, it strives to identify shortcomings/gaps, point out overlaps among existing regulations and examine whether and to which extent the national legislation is aligned with EU objectives, recommendations and directives and the overall EU strategy for Roma inclusion.
