KMOP Skopje – Researcher / Project Assistant (Full-time)

KMOP Skopje is the Macedonian Branch of KMOP Greece , an NGO with more than 44 years of experience in supporting vulnerable people through the provision of social services, implementation of social activities, education and research on social policy issues . KMOP's axes of expertise include mental health, employability promotion, gender equality and provision of support to other socially vulnerable groups, with significant relevant track record.

We are a civil society organization, which has been registered as a local NGO and works autonomously, with the mandate of capitalizing on KMOP’s background and track record for the benefit of the vulnerable groups of the country, including young people at the grassroots level from disadvantaged social backgrounds. Our goal is to be actively engaged in the social welfare system of North Macedonia as much as possible and contribute to the relief of various vulnerable groups by trying to design innovative and effective solutions to some of the problems that the country currently faces, making local communities more resilient. KMOP Skopje through comprehensive analysis, sustainable project activities and its direct involvement with local communities is continuously making efforts for tackling different problems, which are arising from various systematic policy shortcomings and are affecting individuals from disadvantaged background on a daily basis.

Our team is growing and we are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our team as a Researcher/Project Assistant on a full-time basis.
You will assist with administration, implementation, communication and research tasks of Private or Institutional (e.g. EU) funded projects.

Responsibilities:

1) Project management

 Assist the organisation and implementation of project activities (workshops, trainings, dissemination events, project meetings etc.), mapping of stakeholders and liaising with them to engage in project activities;
 Support the drafting, proofing, and translation of project-related deliverables (e.g., Project Management/ Dissemination and Quality Assurance plans, educational and other capacity-building resources);
 Support monitoring and evaluation activities (e.g. drafting progress and evaluation reports).

2) Research

 Draft research methodologies, guidelines and tools;
 Conduct desk and field research (interviews, focus groups);
 Deliver research reports and policy briefs based on the research outcomes.

3) Communication

 Draft and edit engaging communications documents (e.g., press releases, blog posts, articles, website content, social media posts, newsletters) aligned with the organization’s and project needs and goals;

• Manage KMOP’s website and social media, including working with website developers, posting regular media updates on social media channels;

 Undertake visibility and dissemination activities;
Requirements
 Bachelor degree in social sciences.
 A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional work experience in relation to projects implementation/research;

• Experience in conducting social research, assessments and analysis;

 Strong skills in drafting well-structured reports;
 Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Macedonian (written and spoken) is required;
 Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite;

• Familiarity with Erasmus+ and EuropeAid programmes is considered an asset.

 Solid time-management, ability to multitask and organizational skills

You will support KMOP Skopje in areas related to Project Management, Research, as well as Proposal Writing & Partnership Building for Private or Institutional (e.g. EU) funded projects.
Responsibilities:


1) Research


 Prepare research methodologies, guidelines and tools;


 Conduct research (desk and field) and analysis(qualitative and quantitative) on research findings and deliver research reports on the outcomes


2) Proposal Writing & Partnership Building


 Look for/ Monitor/ Identify funding opportunities from institutional and private donors;
 Design and develop project proposals for funding by the European Union and other donors, undertake background research to identify local needs, review, edit, standardize or make changes to material authored by other writers or experts to comply with the local context and the activities of the organisation, handle revisions, edit and re-edit proposal sections as needed, and ensure that proposals maintain a consistent tone;
 Build partnerships in collaboration with networking team and strengthen the existing ones
 Monitor submitted proposals status.


3) Project Management

Manage the implementation of projects and timely delivery of outputs and realisation of activities;
 Participating in project meetings, representing the organisation in multiplier and dissemination events, relevant academic conferences etc;
 Organisation and implementation of project activities (workshops, trainings, dissemination events, drafting reports/deliverables etc.), mapping of stakeholders and liaising with them to engage in project activities;
 Support monitoring and evaluation activities (e.g. drafting progress and evaluation reports).
Requirements
 A bachelor’s and master’s degree in social sciences;
 At least three years of relevant work experience in projects implementation and/or proposal writing of EU funded projects (Erasmus+, AMIF, REC, Horizon and/or any other relevant European Commission’s fund);
 Specific research experience in the social sector and social welfare/mental health/disability rights/bullying;
 Experience using multiple research methods for the collection, analysis and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data;
 Experience in designing and piloting training materials;
 Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite;
 Fluency in written and spoken English and Macedonian is required.
 Strong conceptual and analytical skills and critical thinking;
 Strong skills in drafting well-structured reports;
 Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;

Seminars “Methods for enhancement of new employment opportunities”

Three one-day seminars on the topic “Methods for enhancement of new employment opportunities” were held in Skopje in July 2017, within the scope of the project “Promoting Active Inclusion of Disadvantaged Persons Excluded from the Labour Market”. Among the 90 participants there were representatives of public institutions, civil society organizations, employers, as well as other professionals interested in the topic. The main aim of the seminars was detailed introduction of the social mentoring model and other measures for enhancement of the overall employment rate in the country.

Training Workshop

A Training Workshop was held on 12.03.2018 (Monday) in Skopje within the framework of the project "Building a stronger civil society to boost efforts on educational inclusion of Roma", funded by the European Union. The training was attended by representatives from all eleven (11) CSO Grant Scheme Beneficiaries.
